ORSAS in Northern Ireland
Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORSAS) awards are offered by two higher education institutions (HEIs) in Northern Ireland. Each HEI is responsible for making award annually in line with the objectives of the scheme as set out by the funding bodies.
ORSAS awards beyond 2009
Following the 2008 review of the scheme, and given the relatively small amounts of funding available, the Department for Employment and Learning has formally decided to initiate a phased withdrawal of funding for ORSAS over 2009-10 and 2010-11. There will be no new awards made for October 2009.
